Olympic Dam EP3 Project

Evaporation Ponds are critical to the safe operation of Tailings Storage Facilities as the process effectively minimises water ponding. Plummers Industries showed their capability to integrate varying resources and equipment by supplying and installing a seepage collection sump system as a single integrated package to a client in South Australia. This included submersible pumps, discharge piping, valving, instrumentation, level controls, control stations and solar power. The aim of this project was to ensure the pumping system could pump the sediment back into the evaporation in the event a leak occurred. This project also entailed over 200m3 of reinforced concrete encasement, earthworks, demolition works which were completed on time and on schedule.
